Beginning Jan 22nd, Forever Stamps will increase by a penny to 45¢. This is the first increase in two and a half years according to an Oct 18th press release from usps.com.
This change may impact those of you who use our Club Marketing services such as:
- Custom Mailers
- Letters
- Postcards
- Any Holiday Cards
In addition to the rate increase on stamps, there are some new single-piece, First-Class Mail pricing changes as well. Postcards increased 3¢ to a rate of 32¢ each; letters to Canada or Mexico are 5¢ more at 85¢; and letters to any other international locations are 7¢ more at $1.05.
While the percentage price may increase for different products and services, the overall average price increase across all mailing services has been capped by law at 2.1%, the rate of inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index.
Additionally, the rate increase for Standard Mail Letters is still slightly below the overall average of less than 1.9%, and delivery confirmation continues to be free on several parcel products.
